Senate District 27 is composed of parts many communities - the City of Centennial, the City of Aurora, Greenwood Village, Foxfield, Unincorporated Arapahoe County, Englewood, Byers, Bennett, Strasburg, Watkins and Deer Trail.

Serving these communities are three large school districts - Aurora, Cherry Creek, and Littleton, and the small rural districts of Strasburg, Bennett, Byers, and Deer Trail.

Senate District 27 is also home to the Arapahoe County Justice Center, the Denver Broncos, Centennial Airport, Cherry Creek State Park, part of the Denver Tech Center, Buckley Air Force Base and all of eastern Colorado bordered by I-70 on the north and the Arapahoe County line on the east and south.

T-Rex improvements to I-25 and the addition of a light rail line increased transportation options for thousands of commuters in the district who travel along I-25 daily.

The senate district is divided on the east by E-470, the eastern portion of the beltway.
