Establishes a Teacher Performance Incentive Grant Program for districts to apply for Performance Incentive pay for teachers. The bonus awards would be based on high-quality teaching practices, student performance and other criteria. As part of “The Colorado Promise,” Gov. Bill Ritter declared teacher performance pay to be a key element in creating new opportunities in education and has pledged to “support efforts that provide performance incentives to teachers.”
